SE Track State Medalists!

The UIL State Track and Field Meet was held in Austin May 11-13. Juniors Tatyum Goodman and Emma Samaron qualified for state and represented SEHS well. This was Goodman’s third appearance at the state meet and Samaron’s first appearance.
Samaron competed in the 300m hurdles and placed 3rd with a time of 47.64.
Goodman competed in the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m, and won all three. In the 3 years Goodman has competed at state she has broken records, and this year is no different. She set new 1A state records in all 3 events.
800m with the time of 2:16.29
1600m with the time of 5:04.92
3200m with the time of 10:56.53
As track season ends with these impressive victories, Samaron shares her hopes for the future.
“I am so unbelievably proud of Taytum. I think we both did really well, and there is no doubt that we did our best,” Samaron said. “I cannot wait for next year to do it all over again, possibly with even more people.”
